About Us
Founder
ESVI Sarada Foundation (ESF) was founded by late S. Viswanathan, a well-known industrialist of the south who established the Seshasayee Group of Companies. While he donned different roles throughout his illustrious career - as a proficient lawyer, an avowed freedom fighter, a successful industrialist with a penchant for innovation and above all, an ardent philanthropist, he remained a true Gandhian all his life. True to the values he held dear during his lifetime, he gave back all his material possessions for the common good by founding ESF.
Background
ESF is an N.G.O working in the field of education. Since 2006, ESF started working with young adults with special needs, in close collaboration with V-Excel Educational Trust, one of the pioneering institutions in the field.
ESF has all along recognised the huge gap existing in the life span services presently available for special persons. There is a lack of institutional arrangements required for preparing and providing them for a life in future, which brings in its wake a variety of challenges and uncertainties. It is to address this gap that the ‘’Experiential Living Programme ‘‘ has been conceived.
Considering the uniqueness of the programme, ESF opted for a location and a setting which in itself, will enhance its value. A tranquil environment situated in a fertile rural locale in North Chennai, about 40 to 45 kms from the city centre turned out to be ideal for the purpose, where ESF went about setting up a self-contained organic farm endowed with all facilities for Experiential Living and thus, the ‘Sreyes Farm’ was born.
The serene landscape also provides the perfect backdrop for organizing and conducting programmes aimed at refreshing and rejuvenating individuals who face stresses and strains of various kinds, when demands of everyday life tend to get overwhelming.
